Warning

All applicable national laws, regulations, and standards in the country of installation must be observed.

The system must be installed and operated in accordance with this manual, the robot manufacturer’s instructions, and all associated equipment manuals.

General Precautions

Warning

Always power OFF the SD/SDV tool and SpinBridge before:

  • Installation

  • Maintenance

  • Mechanical adjustments

  • Connecting or disconnecting cables

Environmental Conditions

Warning

Do NOT power on the SD/SDV tool if it has been exposed to condensation.

If condensation may have occurred (e.g. during transport or storage):

  • Store the product at 20–40°C for at least 24 hours

  • Ensure the product is completely dry before use

Note

The product must only be used within the specified environmental conditions.

Regulatory Framework (EU)

For installations within the European Union, the complete system must comply with:

  • Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 (Machinery Regulation)

  • EMC Directive 2014/30/EU

  • Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU

Note

The Spin Robotics tool is intended to be integrated into a complete machine or system. Compliance must be assessed at system level.

Core Safety Standards

It is recommended that the system is designed and installed in accordance with:

  • ISO 10218-1:2025 (Industrial robots – safety requirements)

  • ISO 10218-2:2025 (Robot systems and integration)

  • ISO 12100 (Risk assessment and risk reduction)

For electrical safety:

  • EN IEC 60204-1 (Electrical equipment of machines)

For functional safety of control systems:

  • ISO 13849-1

Cybersecurity Considerations

The SpinBridge is connected to industrial networks and may be accessed via Ethernet.

Important

The integrator is responsible for ensuring that the system is protected against unauthorized access and cyber threats.

General Recommendations

  • Restrict access to the robot network

  • Do not expose the system directly to the internet without appropriate security measures (e.g. VPN, firewall, or secure remote access solution)

  • Use secure network segmentation (e.g. VLAN or firewall)

  • Limit access to authorized personnel only

System Integrity

Warning

Unauthorized changes to system configuration or screw programs may result in:

  • Unsafe robot behavior

  • Incorrect screwdriving results

  • Loss of process control

Cybersecurity Standards

Cybersecurity should be considered in accordance with:

  • IEC 62443 (Industrial communication networks – IT security)

Note

Cybersecurity requirements depend on the complete system design and risk assessment.

For collaborative applications:

  • ISO/TS 15066 (Collaborative robot operation)

For guarding and access protection:

For electro-sensitive protective equipment (e.g. light curtains, scanners):
